Mission Statement

The Mission of the Multicultural Committee is to support the Hopkinson Mission by creating a
welcoming and inclusive school environment.

The MCC does this by:

  • Celebrating, highlighting, and raising awareness around diversity, culture, traditions,
    backgrounds, and heritage.
  • Developing and providing resources, activities, and experiences that create an inclusive community where students feel valued and a sense of belonging.
  • Fostering compassion and respect for all students and members of the Hopkinson community.

heritage celebrations.

Committee Updates and Activities

The Multicultural Committee organized a food drive to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of
service to the community in January. Husky families donated over 20 crates of food that went to Summer Harvest, a non-profit organization whose mission is to end food insecurity in the local area.

Diversity and Inclusion in the Wellness Space
One of the on-going volunteer opportunities the Multicultural Committee sponsors is bringing our
Hopkinson families’ different cultures, backgrounds, and celebrations to the Wellness Space at lunch. If
you would like to help educate our Huskies about your diversity and heritage by leading a craft or
activity at lunchtime, please reach out: HopkinsonMCC@gmail.com.
