Attendance is a crucial component to academic success. I want to thank all of our students and families for arriving to school on time and prioritizing attendance. Our goal is to have outstanding attendance this year. Please make attendance a priority in your home.
* Dr. notes are required for any appointment when your child comes in late, leaves early, or is gone for a few hours mid-day.
* Parent must call or email the attendance office within 24 hours of your student’s absence at 562-799-4500 ext. 71201 or firstname.lastname@example.org
* If parent/guardian has not contacted the attendance desk within 72 hours, your child’s absence will be marked as Unexcused.
* If you leave a message on the attendance line after 11am, the call will be recorded the next business day. Calls prior to 11am will be recorded the same day.
Thank you for your invaluable support of attendance!
To ensure student and community safety, we kindly ask that we all slow down when driving around the school and throughout the neighborhood. Though the speed limit in Rossmoor is 25MPH, we ask that all parents drive slower when approaching and surrounding the school. Safety is a priority and we want to ensure all Huskies and their families are safe.
Also please remember to load and unload ONLY on the curb side of cars in order to ensure that students are not exiting in the way of traffic. We can never leave our cars unattended in loading and unloading areas. Please be safe and respectful of our amazing neighbors.
Our home-school partnership is the cornerstone to our success. If you are not already involved, we urge you to volunteer at school in a variety of ways. Research links parental involvement to student achievement and success. Both PTA and Friends of Hopkinson (FOH) are currently in need of parents to help with our carnival and color run. Both of these events are volunteer run and cannot be possible without the help of our families. Thanks for partnering with us along this important endeavor. Your time and support means so much and truly makes a difference!
o Students cannot be dropped off until 7:45am. We have no supervision available before 7:45am.
o For student safety, during the day you must check in the office as a visitor. Please do not come onto campus without signing in. Also, wait for the dismissal bell to sound before heading to your child’s classroom.
o The playground is only open to school aged Hopkinson students during the school day (7:30am to 4:00pm). In order to ensure the safety of all of our Huskies, we ask that parents and younger siblings remain off the playground equipment during school’s operating hours. We have supervising staff available for Hopkinson students only.
o In order to begin our instructional day, we ask that all parents exit campus promptly at the sound of the morning bell.
o Parents are not allowed to eat at the lunch tables. Parents may use the umbrella tables outside of the office, after signing in the office as a visitor to eat lunch with their student. Parents may only eat lunch at the umbrella tables with their own children. An adult must be on the ER card and preapproval from the parent of a student to pull them to an umbrella table at lunchtime.
o No fast food at lunch tables. Fast food can be brought to eat at the umbrella tables, but the parent MUST stay with the child at the umbrella table.
o Parents cannot bring food for students other than their own, unless they are listed on the child’s emergency card.
